Route Description
Get ready, lace up your shoes, take a deep breath… but whatever you do, don’t start too fast! This is no ordinary 30 km route, with a few surprises waiting along the way. The first 10 km follows the 20 km route, but at 10.8 km the routes split. While the 20 km runners head one way, you enter through the Marloth Nature Reserve Gate and continue through sections of the Streicher Farm plantations. From here, the climbing begins, so pace yourself and keep something in reserve!
Around 14 km, the steepest climb takes you towards the foot of the Langeberg Mountain range, followed by a technical descent where you’ll need to watch your footing. Once at the bottom, you’re heading back up again, this time along a gravel road inside the Reserve. At 18 km you’ll reach the mandatory checkpoint and Refreshment Station 2, before a sharp right turn takes you into the forest and towards the famous Koornlands River crossing. Watch those wet, slippery stones — and remember to smile!
At 25 km, Refreshment Station 3 gives you one last chance to refuel before the Hill Climb Challenge. Scan in at the bottom, race to the top and scan out to compete for the title of Hill Climb Champ! And the best part? The challenge is open to all distances, so the 11 km and 20 km runners will be chasing the crown too!
The final 5 km has everything — gravel, single track, downhill, grass and tarmac — before the final 200 m along the SWD Connect Straight. Your legs may be tired, but if another runner is beside you, they’re your competition. Save something for the finish, dig deep and race for the line!
30 km. Mountains. Forest. River. Climbs. Descents. Surprises.
You wanted an adventure. We’re giving you one. ⛰️🔥🏃♂️

Route Description
Get ready for a route that serves up a little bit of everything!
The adventure kicks off with a gentle 5km cruise along a dirt road before you dive into the first section of single track, winding alongside the channel that feeds the reservoir. A sharp right turn launches you into the legendary "Lovers Lane". Enjoy the scenery, but keep moving—at the end you'll cross the reservoir wall and arrive at your first water point at the 7km mark.
Refuel, rehydrate, and enjoy a short downhill before meeting your first real challenge of the day. The climb opens the door to the next 9km of mixed terrain bliss: flowing single track, open dirt roads, a brief tarmac interlude, and more single track leading to the highlight of the route—the AWESOME Koornlands River crossing. Expect smiles, splashes, and possibly a few photos!
Just after the crossing you'll find the second water point at 15km. Make sure to top up your fluids, because the NICEST climb of the day is waiting around the corner. It's a straight-up tarmac grind to the cellphone tower—steady legs and a strong mindset will get you to the top.
A quick right turn signals the start of the final 4.5km. This closing section throws everything at you one last time: single track, dirt road, tarmac, and grassy stretches all blended into one fun-filled finish. Keep a little something in reserve, because the route ends with a fast, flat sprint down the SWD Connect finish straight.
Smile for the finish line—you've earned it! 🚀🏃♂️🏃♀️

Route Description
The fun starts almost immediately with a gentle 500m climb on a dirt track to get the legs warmed up. Then it's straight into the first single-track section, which kicks off with a slippery surprise—just to make sure you're awake! Hopefully you've cleared this section before the 20km athletes come charging through.
From there, enjoy a winding rollercoaster of twists, turns, ups, and downs as the trail snakes its way through the landscape. The single track eventually opens up onto a faster dirt road section, followed by a short stretch of tarmac before you dive back onto the trails for round two.
At around 6km you'll reach the famous Koornlands River crossing—don't worry, it's only a few steps through the water, but keep your eyes open and your footing steady. A little splash is all part of the adventure!
Just after the crossing, you'll arrive at the first and final water point. Fill those bottles and take a moment to catch your breath, because the "nicest" climb of the day is waiting for you. It's a straight-up tarmac ascent to the cellphone tower—a test of determination, patience, and your ability to ignore your legs asking awkward questions.
Once you've conquered the climb, a quick right turn launches you into the final 4.5km. This last section is a greatest-hits collection of the day's terrain: flowing single track, dirt roads, tarmac, and grassy stretches all mixed together to keep things interesting.
Save a little fuel for the grand finale—a fast, flat sprint down to SWD Connect finish line. Cross the line with a smile, high-five your fellow runners, and enjoy the well-deserved bragging rights. You've earned them! 🎉🏃♂️🏃♀️💨
